Probably easier to replace the window, unless you have the tools to press out the pins for the hinge mechanism AND you can find someone willing to sell you just the mechanism. If you do end up replacing the window, note that the holes in the steel hinges at the leading edge of the window changed over the years -- some years they're spaced farther apart than others. Unfortunately, I don't know specifics, but now you know to measure the holes before buying a window. Also, if you're not familiar with these cars, some years the frame was chrome, others black. Finally, some years got green tint, others orange. It's subtle. Oh, and there's more: the bolt holes for the window are pretty easy to strip, so don't tighten the hell out of them.
This is also a good time to ensure that the window seal is not shrinking, pulling away from the car body. If it is, then the easiest fix is to slice it open at the fused joint and graft in a short piece (~1-inch, but it depends on the extent of shrinkage) of spare seal. This seal is NLA from Saab; I have searched far/wide for a substitute, to no avail. Also, consider pushing some silicone up under the seal where it curves at the lower, forward corner of the window hole, as this is the most common leak source at the window.
