You might consider replacing the ignition switch, or, at least, consider that it may be the culprit. I chased a similar intermittent no-start a number of years ago, and a new switch solved the problem.
Another idea is to create an ignition switch bypass harness so that, if the car fails to start again, you can see if the switch is bad by bypassing it at the switch. Though, come to think of it, the round diagnostic socket in the fuse block should also allow you to bypass the switch; however, you'd have to consult the wiring diagram to determine how to do this.
If you want to make a switch, you'll need a plug for the diagnostic socket, which may be harvested from the front-seat seatbelt system in a 9000 (the plug is white).
