Thanks, Simon and Hans.
I ordered the reman. rack, and will throw it in. I actually already ordered and installed the a-arm bushings, just because of this opportunity.
Karma reared its head - I got the car for a song - it was a friend's "parts car" for a spruce-up of his '90 cvt, but with kids, job, etc, he never had time to get into it, so I swooped in to "get it out of his barn." It looks sort of ratty, and I expected the worst, but as I've gotten into it, the car has turned out to be far better than I expected - it has almost no real rust, (other than some random bits of surface rust) a not-ruined tranny (just a bad reverse) and was apparently well maintained. I pulled the clutch cover off and saw what looked like a brand new clutch! I was starting to feel almost guilty about my good fortune. So, I removed it, and started making plans to put it in my donor engine, only to realize that it was a non-turbo clutch that someone cobbed into it. Win some, lose some.
