Rear Quarter Panel Help/Advice

Since winter is coming and the junkyards are going to be closing soon, I've decided I should cut out a good quarter panel to replace my rusty passenger side rear wheel arch on my '84 sedan. I've got a few questions about this.
First, were there any differences I should be aware of as far as sheet metal? Or are all 4 door sedans the same for body panels no matter the year?
Second, is there anyone who sells/has new quarter panels/wheel arches for this? I though I saw a sale in Sweden last year where they were selling rear qp's as new old stock from factory crates.
Finally-If I go the junkyard route and sawzall a good qp out, does anyone have experience with how much I should cut out/where the welds are.
I know this is a loaded question and it might be a large undertaking, but I'm getting sick of seeing this rust slowly progress on this outer panel. (car structurally sound, no winter driving)
Any input is appreciated.
