I had to have one....and found out they are made by Vornado in Kansas after it arrived. Anyone in our age bracket probably remembers the Vornado fans that were based in recip aircraft engine nacelles....
OK, so since I don't have any water in the garage I am working in, this Mac 1275 seemed to help get things clean -- engine bay with the typical crap caked on. I tried brake cleaner, then some Original Engine Brite. Then followed by a rinse from a pump sprayer, then the Mac 1275 steamer. Result were OK, but not incredible -- I don't have remorse over the purchase.
Turbocon86 -- do you have any application procedure like spray on a product, wait for it to act, then use the steam? Suggestions for the axle doghouses?
I guess when it really gets down to it, the only way to really get things clean and tidy from the firewall forward is hours and hours of detailing.
