Wheel well rubber drain nipple mystery

Vehicle is 1991 900S, two-door w/hatch. I've had issues with wet carpets, mostly on the passenger side, but at times both sides have gotten real wet with water after VERY hard rains. I've done a TON of resarch on water leaks on this BB. I am systematically searching for leaks. I took out front seats, rear seat, console, lower instrument pad (a.k.a. knee bolster), rear side upholstery panels, and both the front and rear carpet sections. There are two rubber drain nipples in the right front wheel well about 3 or 4 inches apart. One is smaller than the other. The front, larger one, originates from the bottom of the AC evaporator housing. I vacuuumed and flushed the housing out until water runs freely out of the rubber drain. I pushed some weedwacker line up the smaller, rear one, from the wheel well, and it comes out way up under the dash, under the glove compartment, down low. It's real hard to see up in there. I did a little test and clamped off the large one, the one from the AC evap housing, and began to fill the housing with water and it dumped the water into the right front floor. Something doesn't seem right. Does anyone know where the smaller of the two drains originates? Thanks
JonH
