Could be the coil that's going bad. Since your car is a non-turbo, check the lead for the wire that run behind the Harmonic Balancer. It runs low on the driver side of the engine. Hall sensor wire. If the hall sensor is faulty, there is a replacement that cheaper in price from an electronic supply warehouse. >>>>>Frank Meyers had a this problem and his was the ignition amplifier. The warmer the engine got, the worst it ran. He tested it with some electronic freeze spray while engine was running.<<<< I would check this first. Check that the FPR hold vacuum.
