Bob,
given your description I'd say that your pump is going south which is a bad thing (how often do you change the brake fluid? how many previous owners did this car have?). Although, it may also be the fluid level sensor which went crazy and fooled both ABS ECU (which drives ABS light) and Brake Light (and also the brake pump).

If you don't know how to trace these issues, then you better tow your baby to a good (and proven to be good) mechanic who's familiar with ABS Mark II system or at least is able to read electrical diagrams and trace circuits.
