I have made my own as well. On my XR4Ti and the SPG I used poly-coated steel, flared with a Mastercool hydraulic flaring tool. Both use the same metric bubble fittings. On the XR I made new brake lines from the master cylinder to the front wheels, since I swapped to a Thunderbird master cylinder and Mustang calipers. On the SPG, I made new lines to go across the rear axle, since I swapped an axle from an ABS car to a non ABS car.
I am just wrapping up redoing ALL the brake lines on my Falcon. This type I used cunifer/C70600/copper-nickel-iron based on some feedback and reviews and so far so good. It's super easy to flare and form, and apparently Volvo and Porsche (and others) use it on production cars already, so I think it's safe to say it's safe. I have not filled/bled/tested the system yet, but the install experience has been great. :)
