just did this on the 9-5... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Trick to removing rear shock??? Please HELP!, Gigantor ![]() |
I haven't (successfully) done rear shocks on our c900's though I may in the near future (my 1 attempt I passed on to my indy as I couldn't crack the lower bolt on either side - that was before I bought a massive breaker bar which would make it a breeze today)... anyway... I have done all 4 corners on the 9-5 and although it is a different system, I would note that the rears on the 9-5, the bushing was basically press fit into the recess. It had to be pried out with great force... 90% of the 9-5 population has never run into that (the shock practically falls right out), so it is a tolerance issue. anyway, my suggestion is put a big screwrdriver in where the lower bolt was and torque it around a little, that is what eventually broke it free for me on the 9-5. good luck!
