There are two things you can do.
1) use your axles in the new hubs. Just disconnect the axle at the back of the outer CV. Use a NEW boot, and replace the grease while you're there.
2) swap the inner driver cups from the 84 into your gearbox. This leaves the outer CV alone, but you have to get into the gearbox. It's not hard, but if you don't want to get into now, I'd completely understand.
Regarding ABS vs non-ABS. The majority of 88+ setups you'll get are equipped for ABS. Either leave the ABS sensor in place (and cut the wires), or cap the hole so you don't let water enter through there.
You also might want to replace the boot and re-grease the inner driver also. And perhaps replace the wheel bearings. The biggest reason to do all this now is that it's all apart.
