Heck I could barely speak let-alone walk, only thing I remember about that night was having a ball online then waking up the next morning. But no I`m for real, its the shifter shaft coupling, take a look at the pic. the coupling on the right has an inch longer shaft than the coupling on the left. I didn't want to mess with the stupid pin that holds them to the shaft so I pulled the u-clamp, I thought no prob. easy swap but no... I'm not even going to say how far I was on reassemble before i slid under the car and seen the coupling is a inch down the shaft thats coming out of the car. the short coupling is on the 88 trans and it fits Oh so perfect. I`ll either have to swap the couplings or cut the shaft coming out of the car an inch to fit, by the way I think that would be allot easier than messing with the shifter shaft pins,... (who would invent such a thing) no way to get a wrench on the back of it how the heck is a person to remove the shifter shaft pin.
