If you don't already, oil spraying it will make it last longer. Annual spray into every body cavity of the car (inside doors, sills, everything). I've done some patchwork repairs on the 1989 winter beater and I know it will eventually be done... but oil spraying makes them last longer. For the most part, the only parts of that car that are rusting are the ones that didn't get oil spray. Some parts of that car are completely mint (but oily!)... In contrast, cars without oil spray tend to have surface rust everywhere a this age, and peeling paint, and once the paint lets go, it's only a matter of time...
