I've never used these types of products but my guess is that they don't work the way we wish they did. I've swept more Saab rust off the driveway then I care to recollect. I think the key is to keep water out of the "inside" of the car. Windshields leak, window seals leak, tail lights leak, sunroofs leak, etc. etc. Track down every leak or potential leak and seal them up.
I think these kind of products "might" work on a few specific problem areas like the back of the hood. Maybe the inside of the front fenders. But unless you have the ability to immerse your Saab in a tank of used engine oil I think it is a loosing battle.
The one thing I do is soak the right side lower control arm with used engine oil. (The right side rusts more often then the left side because you spill oil on the left side when you change the oil filter.) So when I think about I squirt a little oil on the right side.
