I've done the internal oil seal on a couple of distributors in the '90 SPG. Mine was so bad that it would usually let out about a tablespoon full of oil every once in a while in stop and go traffic, dripping onto the heat shield and then pouring onto the exhaust manifold, letting out a huge plume of white smoke. I went through 4 different distributors - three used ones and one NAPA rebuild. The rebuild was the worst of all - apparently they do not replace that internal oil seal. So don't waste your money.

Finally I got so sick of it that I took apart two dizzys and replaced the seals. It's a pretty straight - forward job. Just take out the dizzy, remove the rotor (might be glued on), then take off the vacuum advance (two screws or so). Then to get the shaft out, you have to push out the little pin from the side that goes into the engine. To do this, I found the only way is with two people, a vice, a torx attachment that goes on a ratchet, and a long, thin punch tool.

Mount the dizzy to the vice in a way so that the torx tool is being pushed into the pin. Screw it down as far as you can with the torx tool before switching for the punch tool to get it the rest of the way. It's very tough to push out. Once it is out, you can take the shaft out and underneath are a couple of washers (note their position, how many, etc). Underneath them you should see the inner seal if there is one. I have seen two dizzys that do have internal seals and one that did not so far. The one that did not was the one from NAPA (stupid NAPA). The NAPA part number mentioned by the guys above does work - stack two of them in there and put it all back together reverse of removal and stick the dizzy back into the engine. Once this internal seal is fixed, I have never had another leak.

It is possible and pretty simple to do yourself and will make a world of difference in your satisfaction with your 900. I highly recommend it.
