My friend/colleague spent part of today arguing on the phone with the dealer that is examining his 2007 BMW 328xi. The car is generating error codes on the interior screen that concern electrical problems. The dealer is claiming a $400 fee to diagnose the problem that is conflicting with an earlier $200 diagnosis estimate. My friend is spitting mad about 1) the dealer and 2) owning a modern BMW.
There's something about replacement battery installation that only a dealer can perform. The replacement battery is @$300. He's taking it to a private shop for more information. The dealer seems to want to ding him for not doing the job under their roof.
I kissed my '87 900 on the hood before leaving work this evening.
