New SACHS KF436-02 clutch - too stiff ??? Posted by DET17 [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Indeed. Bought this clutch brand new off eBay.....fitment says it is the EARLY Turbo clutch for pre-89, and also covers the 90+ NA cars. I believe the PP is 215mm, smaller than the 228mm which is in the 90+ Turbos.
I went with this size clutch for the little woman....trying to make the manual as easy as possible for her to shift.....
Well completed the bleed of the new master/slave/line combo....it bled immediatley, no issues. When the wifey was pushing (by hand) she commented how hard it was! So I gave it a try, and I agree, it was harder than expected to actuate.
For comparison, I went out to my trusty 90T 3 door, with it's now almost 10 year old 228mm clutch, and indeed the old LARGE clutch is easier to actuate.
My experience with a 90NA clutch, almost "disk worn out" was that it had gotten very hard to actuate.....when I replaced with this same smaller clutch, it's pedal was light as a feather.
Any idea what's wrong? Is this some stinking RALLY clutch or something?
