It's really hard to tell for sure if the metal around the one that's fallen out is bad, because I think they paint over the plugs with the rubberized underbody paint... that said, this car is very much intact - the metal seems solid around it and the hole looks pretty round and well defined... though this car is 20 years old, and about 18 winters old (it is now a summer car), it has been annually oil sprayed, so it's grimy but hardly rusty anywhere... a couple years ago when I did the heat shield and had the carpets out, everything looked pretty good except a little thin surface rust where there had been a brake line leak on the drivers side. see photo. I doubt the passengers side would be even as bad as that, but I guess I'll have to tear out the carpets to know and that won't be for a while - this car is a daily driver... I'll probably address this stuff in the fall once I get the winter beater back together... can't afford to have 2 saabs apart at once!
