That may be your problem Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: MORE FActs : Trunk Light, ED, Sat, 13 Jul 2013 08:45:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Might want to check into it. There's a pin switch there but sadly the only way the alarm knows its there is when the trunk opens the pin switch is allowed it fully open creating a wired connection between the wires running to it. Which tells the dome switch the trunk is open and the alarm the trunk is open. If this wire is broke off the pin switch the light would never work by opening the trunk and the alarm would never detect the problem which would never set it off. However checking the wires is real easy, open the trunk, take spare tire out and place you head in the spare trunk area looking up under the trunk latch. You will see the springy pin switch with the wires running to it.
But I don't think this would be the chirp prob. With an alarm being the switch is dead.
It's more like there's a power drain or the alarm is thinking the panic button is being pressed, its hard to tell what code 1 chirp is saying for that specific alarm, an owners manual would help. Try hitting the web searching for a owners manual for that alarm.
