Well $80 is pretty cheap. If I was certain that it was a good quality MC I'd be tempted to go that route. You need small snap ring pliers and patience to rebuild the MC. I can do one usually in about 20 to 30 minutes but I've done a lot of them. I never hone them, just wash and wipe the bore and if it ain't smooth (but they always are) I'd just grab another core. I know a guy that rebuilds them without removing them but I don't like laying on my back under the dash that much so I take them out. The R & R is harder in an ABS car than a pre-ABS car too so that's where it might be worth rebuilding it in place.
