If you don't set it on when removing (or re-installing, whatever), then it will do the trick. Just remember that this boy senses everything, including even the indicator bulb - always disconnect the battery before doing anything affected with SRS.
Well, on the other hand I haven't tried this trick personally and I recall the special harness-to-ECU connector which SRS relies upon. And those supercaps on pcb which keeps it powering on when the car smashes and the on-board power goes out. So the bottom line is the following: I put 95% chances that this trick will work, but it's better to try first in a junkyard full of C900 spares. Or in a shop with free access to TechII and SRS-TechII adapter.
