Re: Door panel liner replacement. What to use?... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Door panel liner replacement. What to use?..., Baggsly ![]() |
I get to do this again soon... need to either fix the rot in our door or swap in a new door before winter!
be very gentle removing the original liner. they are brittle and tend to crack easily. the goo can be separated using a putty knife, but it's basically like acoustical sealant... that's what you could use to reinstall if the old stuff won't stick or whatever (but it's really messy stuff!)... if you crack the liner, I just use housewrap tape to stick it back together. Actually, if you are careful, you can use that to seal the edges of the liner also... and if you really mutilate the liner, I'd just use 6mil poly sheet and tape it... basically all it is is a vapour barrier so you don't get mold etc on the door card...
I hope our pick + pull has a silver sedan... grabbing a door would be much easier than fixing the rot...
