Easiest way to fish the broken parts from the tank is to remove the fuel pump which is not a difficult task. I found major parts of three senders in our '91 turbo Vert which the PO had driven often on an extremely curvy coastal mountain road. Pinning the canister with brads or small screws is a sure fix. Boneyard is the best source and if it is completely intact when you pull one, it is likely functional.
