Engine Run On Posted by Carraig Dhubh [Email] (#176) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Carraig Dhubh) on Sat, 23 Nov 2013 16:04:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have noticed recently that if car is left running stationary for awhile that when I turn the ignition off the engine still runs on. I have to deliberately stall the car to stop it. On prior occasions if I removed the key, the SRS light was then triggered and would thereafter come on and flash and then stay on while driving so now I stall the car with ignition key still in. I think that is what was called "pre-ignition" when I was growing up in UK and was often associated with lower octane fuels ( I only use premium gasoline ) or dirty carb where carbon glows hot so still can ignite fuel .
Is this just a sign that fuel system just needs a good cleaning or something more serious?
