1. Install any modern and secure OS which runs on your hardware like Windows 7 x64 or any GNU/Linux derivative that appeals to you (I went with stable Debian branch which is the Wheezy now and I'm quite happy with that). There're both pros and cons with either of them: MS product will cost you a fist of bucks and hardware resources but you'll get an environment you used to deal with; with GNU/Linux you save on h/w resources (e.g. you don't need to have antivirus software which inspects every goddam single file you open manually or automatically by the system) but it's like a defloration - first you're like OMGOMG OMG!!!111 HOW DO THEY LIVE WITH THAT?????! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW????????? but later in a week or two you're fine with that.
2. Install any VM software that appeals to you and install that XP OS into that VM (XP installation ISO can be found anywhere in the internet and you still have that activation key which came with your XP copy so you have all the rights) - that's the easiest and safest way to manage your problem. Under GNU/Linux there's another option: to go with Wine (Windows emulator) but there're compatibility issues with some programs and EPC is among them: one has to do some tricks to manage EPC work under Wine and I'm not sure you'll be able to do those tricks right after that recent defloration.
