I've removed my cars input shaft several times using a bolt from the dismantling process. The bolt may be from the plastic clutch cover.
I use a Wonder Bar that carpenters use to remove nails to pry or pop the clutch shaft free. Unless you remove the radiator, you will not get the clutch shaft completely out. The drivers side fan assembly needs to be removed and it is a good idea to place a thin piece of wood next to the radiator to prevent any damage from the clutch shaft.
There are many more adventures ahead in doing a clutch.....especially the clutch sandwich. When you are completely finished, your can wear your accomplishment as a badge of courage.
