"tap the chisel point into the broken off plastic bolt threads and unscrew."
If you are referring to the plastic oil thrower, I don't believe it is broken (never seen one before this week), it had 3/4" of thread on it when removed and, looking in the shaft hole with a mirror/flashlight did not see anything inside and threads looked OK.
After taking the plastic propeller/oil thrower to the parts store and finding no other nut than an M8 1.25 to fit it, I continued as advised - I have a M8 hole in the shaft.
The M8 bolt was very tight, difficult to thread in, like I was going into a non M8 fitting and, I was careful to approach at the correct angle to avoid cross-threading.
I don't know WTF is going on - when the bolt was removed from the shaft the bolt threads were damaged and the M8 nut previously on the removed bolt could not be screwed on to it.
Do all clutch shafts have a bolt hole in front? Could I be dealing with a non-Saab clutch shaft or a Saab shaft for another year/model of Saab? All shafts are M8?
