they don't even need to be old Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Sat, 31 May 2014 03:02:18 In Reply to: Re: batt age, Siegfried, Fri, 30 May 2014 22:28:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had a 6 month old battery with bad cells once. They can get damaged in transit to/from/at a store. And they can work for a while, but quickly give out also. That is what happened in my case - 6 months after buying it I was having charging problems again, and a load test pointed to one or more bad cells.
My Saab indy uses good batteries (Interstate) says he occasionally gets a bad one... normal humans don't process as many batteries as a tech, so we just don't see these stats! Anyway, that is why they have a pro-rated warranty.
It sounds like Landjet has found some kind of drain, but if that proves futile, I would load test the battery and double check charging voltages and wire condition (I was amazed at the horrendous condition of my red alternator wire, and the subsequent improvement in charging once that was replaced!)...
