I have been meaning to post some things I did when replacing my clutch, might help with your project:
1) Read previous clutch postings and find tutorials at Saabnet, Twinsaabs, Townsend sites.
2) Have all of the recommended tools - mandatory for completion in a reasonable time frame.
3) I used the "3 fat nut" technique. Used a piece of coaxial cable instead of the tool. (Will not use coax again – the coax cable was crushed upon removal 8 days later. Coax might work for 2 hours – not for a longer time.)
4)To remove the pressure plate/slave assembly I inserted a 3’ piece of 12 gauge electrical wire through a pressure plate bolt hole and wrapped the wire around a 2” x 6” x 7’ piece of lumber across the engine bay. This transferred the weight of the pressure plate to the lumber and allowed me to concentrate on sliding the pressure plate beyond the pins. As added reinforcement, a smaller piece of wood was below the pressure plate.
5) Used a 2” wide metal paint scraper between the slave and gear box allowed the clutch assembly to be easily moved toward the battery side. This allowed me to grab the slave when clear of all obstacles and not have to deal with the weight of the pressure plate, now hanging from the 2” x 6” lumber.
6) Reinstall: I used the lumber and 2” wide paint scraper again and, 3 fat nuts to remove the coax.
7) Use good quality O-rings, my slave started leaking 30 days after reinstall.
