weird start idle problem

i have a 1992 turbo convert that i have been having a normal operating temp start issue with. i have searched the posts for this problem but cant fine what i am looking for. so here it is: when i start it when its cool (meaning first start of the day or after it sits and cools)it starts, rpms jump to 1000, dips a little and settle at about 850. however when it has run to normal operating temp and i shut it off, let it sit a while, start it, the rpm jumps to 1000 rpm then dips very low and dies, sometimes it will catch its self and recover then settles at normal rpm. but most of the time the only way i can get it running is to give it some throttle until it stays running.
this is what i have done so far; changed the AIC three times, the NTC, the AAM, the 02 sensor and the drivability computer, plus checked all kinds of other things trying to fix this problem. every other aspect of the engine works and runs great. the only problem is the starting when warmed up. i am hoping someone has experianced this issue.
appreciate any help.
