I assume you are going in to primarily replace the slave? Take heart. I did this last summer after never even seeing a clutch before in my life. Didn't even know what the pressure plate, et al, even looked like -- though from the descriptions here I had a picture in my head. I used the big nut method which worked ok for me -- lots of info in the archives. Also the spacer tool is pretty inexpensive ($7?) from eeuro. My only real problem was getting the whole assembly back in. Had to use some 2 x 4's and a BFH to finally squeeze it all back in there. Kind of surprised that it worked after the pounding.
Caveat: after all that, it still had a slow leak, so heartbroken and bruised up, I gave up and took it to my indi. Turns out, a couple hundred dollars in labor later, that I hadn't tightened down the hydrolic line securely enough. I was still a happy man. So get your hands dirty and if you encounter problems, the folks here will know what to do.
