Keith, are you trying to pull the wiring harness thru the opening where the power steering reservoir is mounted? If so, remove the reservoir first. There is no need to remove the wires from the connector in this area. The A/C box that you refer to needs to be pulled into the car, after removing the entire dash. That also is not required to remove the wire harness.
If it makes it easier for you, the connectors do come apart fairly easily and the wires can be removed individually.
Are you converting the car to Trionic 5?
