If the rest of the assembly is OK I would just go with the Walbro insert. That's what I did on my 9000 a few years ago and it's been fine. I think the later 900 fuel pumps are similar to the 9000. 8mm nozzle is single-barb, 6mm is 3-barb, from what I understand 6mm is the most common.
You might want to buy new check valves, the originals will be brittle and easy to break. I found the best way to remove them was to use a vise grip with tape-covered jaws lightly clamped, pulling gently upwards while twisting back and forth a bit.
