My first thought was to test for leaks from the turbo outlet to the manifold. Then, look carefully at the manifold and under to see if a bolt has fallen out -- I was chasing boost leaks in the racecar and there was a bolt missing under the manifold -- it appeared that it wasn't needed, but it was threaded all the way into the manifold, and so boost pressure was leaking out.
There are smoke generator machines that can quickly tell if you have a boost pressure leak.
However, the rattle you are hearing is probably the issue, and the APC microphone is shutting down the boost pressure. Check for carbon in the cylinders. Run Chevron and put techron concentrate in the fuel if you can't find Chevron -- I think you are in Socal, so as I remember, lots of Chevron stations there. I use Seafoam to do the suck a third of a can into the intake manifold, and then shutdown, wait, restart, make sure you do it where nobody will think you threw a stinkbomb or set a fire......
How do the plugs look?
