That was my thought also. I've had both my c900s behave that way when the rad needed replacement.
At the same time, I would address any older questionable hoses etc, and replace the tstat and update to the 82 degree fan switch if it has not already been done. If the coolant is the green crap, I'd flush and replace with Zerex G05 (Merc coolant used to be this) (as per Townsend) or the proper saab coolant. Review Townsend's pages. They are gold. Good luck!
