Hello,
As far as the rod bearings. I have been told by both machinists and drag racers that pre-detonation that will lead to slight wear on the upper bearing halfs like yours. I have seen it on various exotics and it makes sense on them with when the owner only puts a few hundred miles on them a year and runs them hard with the old gas that had been sitting in them for a year. And drag racers will often change the top halves after a weekend of racing if the are running crazy compression according to several engine builders I know. Good Luck, Bernie
