My faithful '86 C900 base 8V with 286k miles has developed a significant vibration. At first I thought it was a wheel balance problem because it occurred at 65mph and 75mph - however - the vibration occurs on acceleration - and disappears on overrun. Now I'm beginning to feel it at all speeds when I'm accelerating hard or going up a hill and the engine is "working".
The vibration is felt thro the car generally (rather than thro the steering wheel or gearstick). There are no unusual clicking or clunking noises from the drivetrain that I can hear. (ie no sounds like a CV joint failing).
Any ideas??
