The wastegate is inside the tubocharger exhaust housing. You can see the wastegate actuator on the outside of the turbo (a small metal can with a pressure hose connected to one end) on the turbo's intake side. If you are underneath the car looking up you can see the rod that comes out of the can and goes into the exhaust side of the turbo that controls the wastegate. The pressure hose on the actuator goes up to the Boost Pressure Regulator valve that is attached to the corner of the radiator. Pressure from the intake tube modulated by the BPR pushes on the diaphragm that opens the wastegate.
When you have the exhaust pipe off the turbocharger, you can look in and see the wastegate. It's about the size of a quarter and is inside the exhaust housing of the turbo.
The bypass valve is the small black cylinder with two large hoses and a vacuum hose that you have identified.
