Please check page 160 of SAAB 9000 Service Manual Part No. 359505, Section 2:7 Engine Management System Trionic M1994, 1995-. Here I quote the note verbatim: "If any winding has a short circuit, the control module will probably also be damaged. If a new valve is then fitted, it will automatically be rendered unserviceable. Accordingly, in the event of a short circuit the control module must be changed."
Yikes!!! Sorry for the really bad new. Not only do you need a NEW engine ECU, you also need ANOTHER BPC valve!!!
