I think Im screwed. purchased this delightful vehicle last summer and used this site to solve various TCS probs and helpful hints on tires and timing chain procedures.Thanks for all the expert advice. Last night i was returning from a class an hour from my home. mostly highway drive. at the beginning of this trek starting at a red light, had no power as tach surged, accompanied by bone chilling rattling of car. eventualy got momentum and onto highway where i FLEW home.
no probs on highway. got off highway to get to my home. about 12 miles, involving a three mile mtn. climb....sweet. limped up hill with same symptoms changing gears manually between d,3,2 AND 1. gear would occasionally catch. got to cruisng speed again and lost ALL drive power and drove last 100 yds to my house in reverse. im psyched i made it home but i know i paid dearly for it. did extensive research last night and read virually every thread under tranny. i think i just need a direct response on the extremely remote chance this is not the 3000 dollar question. also, my mechanic, who iam contacting after i am fully armed with info, has an 89KT parts car i have used for accesories and other things. is this a possibility as well?tranny that is... I cant stand the "i told you so" looks from my coworkers.
