The easiest way to get it off is with a reasonably powerful impact wrench. The alternative involves "jamming" a screwdriver into the transmission to prevent the crankshaft from turning. Just look up crankshaft pulley on this board for more detailed instructions on what to do. Oh, and BTW, it is a normal thread and should be tightened to 129 ft/lbs of torque if I remember correctly.
