Take a sturdy large flat-head screwdriver and hold the flywheel by sticking the tip of the screwdiver into the flywheel teeth (through one of the holes on top of the transmission) and jamming the flywheel against the transmission housing. I've done this many times and it works great. You MIGHT want to have an assistant hold on to the screwdriver in order to keep it from slipping.
Don't worry about damaging the flywheel teeth or breaking the screwdriver. Since the rim of the flywheel is such a large diameter it only recieves a small fraction of the torque that is applied to the crankshaft bolt. It's NOT enough to do any damage.
The crankshaft bolt should be tightened to 129 ft/lbs.
Good Luck!
