Max boost for your car (at least in the USA) is only 11 psi. Per my Autometer boost gauge (VDO too), the division between yellow and red is 12 psi. My car also never got above 2/3-3/4 yellow when it was stock. Also, base boost is a bit less than 1/2 yellow, so you definitely don't have that. You'd really notice it - car would feel like a total slug.

All that said, you MAY have a slightly low base boost setting. I'm not sure how this happens, presuming it's set properly at the factory, but base boost on my car was about 1 psi low. That doesn't sound like much, but raising base boost just 1.5 psi increased max boost 5 psi. Now that's with a modified APC, but even with a stock APC, max will still go up by more than the increase in base boost.

So don't freak out... the division between yellow and red on a c900 of a similar year, is slightly less psi as I understand it, so they are more likely to get into the red. I've also heard that boost gauges can differ even from one otherwise identical car to the next. The only way to REALLY know what psi you are getting, it to get a calibrated boost gauge. They're cheap and easy to hook up, if you just are dying to know that you have more than base boost.

On my car's very best day, ie 32 degrees and raining hard, up in the mountains, I could just barely touch the yellow/red line when stock.
