power into your engine should you do this.
You shorten the wastegate rod to keep the valve closed for a longer time, before it starts to bleed out the extra boost that the turbo is capable of.
The turbo can and will blow your engine to pieces in one acceleration if you force it too much. ( and the turbo cut off switch is broken )
Loosen the 11mm nut on waste gate rod, remove safety clips and maybe leadplomb that holds the rod to waste gate valve/arm. Screw the arm with the eyelet clockwise ( toward the vacuum controller) 1 turn at the time and hook it back together again and test drive.
Be very careful that the whole rod is not turning together with the eyelet, you will ruin the diaphragm inside vacuum controller if that happens.
When you are getting closer to red field you will also need to deal with the fuel pump shut off function also called "turbo over boost shut off"
That happens right into the red field.
