I've been thinking of converting to non-TCS/ECT myself but don't know where to start. My car goes into limp-home approx once/2 mths ... restarting car eliminates it. It almost always happens when car is only warm with < 15 mins of run time from cold start, and ALWAYS right at the moment when I increase throttle either on level road or beginning of a a graded section ... but never downhill.
Aside from the three Saab/Saturn/Isuzu dealers here in Vancouver, there is only one other indy Saab-only shop but they don't have ISAT nor TechII. If I decide to go non-TCS/ETC conversion, what exact parts do I need and how much will they cost ? I'm contemplating asking ScanWest in Seattle to do this job if it's not too expensive.
My direct email is: saabken@yahoo.ca
TIA,
Ken
