With the Abbott springs and Koni shocks, the ride on my '96 Aero is much nicer than standard (and the Konis are not at their softest by quite a bit). "Sporty but comfortable" more or less describes my setup. The front Konis are adjustable from under the bonnet, but the rears require you to disconnect one end to adjust them. However, if you don't want to adjust them, then leave them alone. You don't have the choice with Bilsteins - if you don't like the Bilsteins you have to disconnect all four, then throw them away and fit new ones, which sounds like an awful lot of effort and expense to me.
Abbott springs with Konis set quite soft should give you the best of both worlds. If you don't like it then you can adjust the shocks a bit harder. I don't play with my adjusters, but I did adjust them to my taste after installing them and at least if I don't like the setup I get the chance to change it for free.
