I also bought one of these from Maptun, with downpipe and CatCo cat, after Bill Davies kindly showed me his. I had no problems with the packing and managed to install it myself with no issues other than a loose flange stud, which would have happened with any downpipe I fitted. I did a bit better than Bill on the exchange rate, getting it for £485 (US$700) including shipping to the UK.
I'm very pleased with it. The sound is not too loud and it is certainly effective as far as performance is concerned.
I'm told that stainless steel imparts the raspy sound characteristic of "rice-boy" exhaust systems. I spoke to someone who had fitted an Abbott system to a 9000 (but never heard it myself) and he said it was the worst mistake he ever made with the car due to the noise. If it's noise you're after, perhaps stainless steel is the way to go. It's not my style, however - I like the subtle rumble of the JT system.
