I had strange squeecking / rumbling sound just after I had changed the wheel bearing and the bushings. The sound came when I was driving in a curve from the "outer wheel". Sounds like wheelbearing is gone... but it was brand new!
The reason was difficult to find, but finally I found out that the (back) shield plate of the brake was twisted "out" so that it just barely touched the disc in the curves only (=the clearance between the plate and the disc (rotor) was not big enough).
Good (violent) touch of a couple of BIG screwdrivers fixed the thing. I had to twist the plate apart from the disc simultaneously from top and lower ends + the side ;-)
