notes on front hub replacement

Today I finally got around to replacing the dirver's front hub. The old one had been grinding since I bought the car and now that I have it apart I see that it wasn't the bearings that were grinding but rather slop in the bearing allowing the brake disc to rub against the dust shield. It was good that I got around to doing the job, when I took the nut off which holds the hub to the CV joint I found it loose enough to turn with a 6" socket... well below the 207ft-lbs specified in Haynes. Unfortunately my torque wrench only goes up to 150 ftlbs, so I torqued it up to there and then pushed really hard for a second - I'm hoping this is close enough. I also used blue locktite on the hub nut, (4) nuts going through the "steering swivel member", and red locktite on the two bolts holding the Girling Caliper on.
All in all it was an easy job. The only headache was having to buy an $18 set of torx bits from Checker to remove the one guide screw from the brake disc. This was much easier than I anticipated.
Shout out goes to Evil Twin Skippy for assuring me it was easy. I was worried the car would sit in my Brother-In-Law's driveway (his torque wrench and impach wrench - largely useless) for a good two weeks.
