The head gasket itself is under $100, valve cover should be another $20 if that.. Are you getting ALL motor mounts? That ought to come to maybe $300 max, though they can be had considerably cheaper for the same part. Serpentine belt should be what... under $20. I know dealer markup is high, but I can't believe double what the normal going price is. I can almost believe the amount of labor, especially since it includes all motor mounts.. but 2 grand? Cripes, I had an entire engine put in my car for that much last year.

This is exactly why I stay away from my dealer... don't mean to depress you, but once you see how much you can get the exact same part for yourself (maybe it won't say Saab on it), you'll be shocked.
